Co-creation of a course titled "Digital Innovation and Technology Transfer Systems" as the first pioneering action

The Center for Digital Innovation and the University of Macedonia signed a memorandum of cooperation to implement joint actions and initiatives aimed at further promoting research and innovation, as well as developing programs that will offer students expertise from the real job market.

This new collaboration between the Center for Digital Innovation and the University of Macedonia began with a pioneering action involving the co-design of the course titled "Digital Innovation and Technology Transfer Systems" for the seventh semester of the Department of Applied Informatics.

Through this synergy, the Center for Digital Innovation aims to strengthen the spirit of innovation and creativity at the University, introduce students to real challenges faced by organizations in the modern digital environment, and present widely used work methods in technology companies.

The course followed a series of lectures where students were invited to work in agile teams on different challenges related to digital transformation. At the end of the program, eight selected teams were hosted at the offices of the Center for Digital Innovation and presented their final projects.

The Site Lead of Pfizer Thessaloniki and the Center for Digital Innovation, Nico Gariboldi, stated: "We are particularly pleased with the confirmation of the cooperation between the Center for Digital Innovation and the University of Macedonia. The students of the department have the opportunity to apply their knowledge to real scenarios and connect with best practices through the guidance of professionals in the field. At the same time, through this collaboration, we have the opportunity to explore fresh ideas and perspectives, ensuring that future professionals are better prepared for the job market."

Professor of Digital Entrepreneurship and Technological Innovation, Konstantinos Fouskas, stated: "Our collaboration with Pfizer's Center for Digital Innovation strengthens our efforts to offer our students opportunities to come into contact with real challenges faced by technology organizations today. The course aims to equip students with skills in digital transformation and innovation, while simultaneously preparing them for the job market by offering them the chance to collaborate on modern projects with real professionals. The University of Macedonia and the Department of Applied Informatics are pioneering in connecting academic education with the real needs of the market, providing students with a competitive advantage for their future."
